City of South Miami

The small-town atmosphere of the City of South Miami offers a unique family charm. Known as the “The City of Pleasant Living,” its downtown area is perfect for a stroll along unique shops, trendy restaurants or just to sip a coffee while people-watching. The community hosts art festivals, twilight runs, exotic car shows and many more annual events.

The city of approximately 12,200 residents and 2.5 square miles borders Coral Gables and Pinecrest, and the main campus of the University of Miami. Residents of South Miami enjoy their parks and family friendly neighborhoods, as well as convenient access to schools, shopping malls, beaches, downtown Miami, and Miami International Airport. The South Miami metrorail station provides easy transportation access south to Dadeland in Kendall, and north to Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, and downtown Miami with connections to performing arts and sports via the metro mover, and farther north via Tri-Rail and Brightline.
